Daffodils

I had such a frustrating day today. Yesterday evening my new Macbook Pro was delivered, I was expecting it on Friday so was surprised to receive it so soon. Straight after breakfast I thought I would quickly set it up before walking Xena, and before I knew it I was so engrossed in trying to sort things and getting very frustrated. Usually setting up Apple products is easy, but I could not get my Googlemail to work, it kept saying I had the wrong password when I knew it was correct. I tried everything but it just would not load my email accounts.

I also have been meaning to get my backup sorted for my desktop as the system I use is totally unsatisfactory and I am running out of space on my backup drive. The computer man who helps me with my IT issues, and who custom built my PC, said he would pop around to correct the backup situation - and so he also looked at the Macbook problem with my email accounts. It seems that with the new Ventura system on Apple you require a 2 factor authentication, and he quickly sorted that for me so that Apple mail would be able to recognise my Googlemail accounts.

He also sorted my backup. At the moment I have an internal backup drive in my computer, which is a bit useless if my computer is damaged, so I have been trying to manually backup to a second source using an external hard drive. As I have nearly 8TB of data on my computer - all my big files of photos images - it takes so long and is not easy to do. So he sorted a backup to the cloud (using Carbonite), he will order me a new drive to backup in my computer (as it is nearly full) and then get me a external drive with lots of memory for a removable backup - we are looking at 20 TB so it's expensive and therefore he is busy shopping around to find the cheapest deal he can get for me, and then will return in a few days to update of it.

Anyway the long and the short of it is that I did not have time to walk Xena as I then had to rush out to ladies golf clinic, but Gavin was home so he walked her for me. Gavin was home to meet to roofer to discuss the quote,  as the repairs needed to the roof are extensive, such shoddy workmanship that was originally carried out on this house. It is a very large and very expensive house so we are feeling a bit bruised by all the things that have gone wrong with it. We need to get everything sorted and then in a few years time we will probably sell this house! When Gavin is retired he does not want to be spending what we are currently spending on maintenance!

No time for photos today but the daffodils on my kitchen window sill have opened up and are looking like a bowl of sunshine, so that is my photo today.
