Mercury!
No. 2 in this series of blips is mercury. Situated just outside Broxburn Academy's school gates this representation of the sun's closest planet was inspired by the Voyager mission in 1977 which sent a number of square images back, suggesting that the surface was similar to the moon. I have added some extra shots here to ket you see the artwork in its context.
I think this is a lovely piece of tactile artwork which must invite children to clamber on it.
Off tomorrow - you have to love the flexi system :-) Give me a call Shashins if you need - I'll be in front of a computer designing wedding invitations anyway :-))
