Ugly ducklings

My camera has been on work experience this week, so I haven't had much time with it. Tonight on the way home I came across a pair of swans with their cygnets. I had to do a quick supermarket sweep anyway, so I got home, grabbed the camera and walked to the shop instead hoping they would still be there, and they were.

There was also a duck with her brood - ahh, that looks cute I thought, wonder if I could get a shot of all these little cuties? Then it all turned a bit ugly, with the adult swans trapping the duck and ducklings behind a boat, mother duck quacking in panic, two little ducks got stranded away from the brood with menacing swans near them, mother duck doing her biscuit! Luckily a chap I know happened by with some bread so he chucked it in to divert the swans and the ducks did a quick get away. Nature in tooth and claw here folks. But they do look unbelievably cute.
