Shabby chic
Hard at it today - looking for grants, proof reading, searching for spare pix and in the afternoon we were hot desking! Both working on the same bit! And we're still talking! Jeez, desk top publishing is even more brain punishing than the writing and research! The man has three screens going at once, and he'd like two more!
Groundhog Day today in America ( 6 more weeks of winter for you), and it's also Candlemas, traditionally a day to predict the weather as well:
The half the winters to come and mair;
If Candlemas day be wet and foul,
The half a winter’s gane at yule
Help I need Talpa - it seems to mean that if the day is good then there's bad weather to come, if it's bad, the winter is done.
If Candlemas is bright and clear there will be two winters in one year.”

Hmm, it was mild but murky with a bit of mizzle. I reckon there's more to come.
And St Bridget is of course involved:
The Virgin Mary gave Saint Bridget her feast day on the first of February as an expression of her gratitude to the Irish Saint for distracting crowds of onlookers in Jerusalem by wearing a headdress adorned with lit candles, and in so doing enabling the Virgin Mary to go unnoticed with the infant Jesus to the Temple.
All fascinating and today's pic is totally unrelated but a rather gorgeous couple of doors from Bandon. Bandon was a settled town, its heyday in the 18th century and there are some wonderful Georgian buildings, many rather dilapidated but still handsome.
