Swaledale mutton Mk 2
Preparing a boned, rolled belly of mutton stuffed with leeks, garlic and herbs. I started making it a bit too late so it is now trussed up in the fridge overnight for slow cooking tomorrow. Confident it will be lovely.
Highlights of the day: manning the village shop for the morning and bagging a motorised cat toy for our still-incarcerated feral cats. L telling me he had found ‘the skeleton of a snake’ - and immediately thinking “probably the spine of a dead rabbit”. It was the spine of a dead rabbit :)
