all quiet

I can see why this place as chosen as an aircraft observation point during WW2. The sky is so big.  (Best large)

For a few moments I had the Common to myself.  Plenty of dog walkers when I set out, but by the time I reached the top of the hill slope they were gone.

It was so quiet - the only sound, my heart thumping as I caught my breath.  No bird song, either.  And still - no wind.  

As I made my way back home, people started to re-appear. As if they'd been waiting for the all-clear.  (see extras)
