After the Game
We went for a walk on Woodford Golf Course after lunch. It’s a nine-hole course which was established in 1890, and because it’s on Corporation of London land in Epping Forest the area is also open to the general public. All golfers must therefore wear a jumper or major item of red clothing so that they are clearly visible to walkers.
Other than the golfers’ red clothing, there was very little colour on the golf course, but as we walked back towards the road near the club house the sun was shining on this terrace of houses adjacent to it, and I was very taken by the light coloured bricks on one of the houses which were catching the sun’s rays. Two golfers had just finished playing and were walking back ahead of us.
