Visits

Had a nice long lie in after a few nights of very short sleeps, then headed down in beautiful sunshine to P’s house. Helped him have a shave and sort out some payments etc he wanted done. He was clearly quite excited about Mt&H and the kids arriving but managed to have some (tiny amounts) of lunch before they got there. He’d spent so long searching for and ordering their Christmas presents and I wasn’t sure how age appropriate they were, but was delighted when Mx was clearly keen to get stuck in to examining the stamps with the magnifying glass that came with the stamp collecting set, and AR was so taken with the book on the periodic table (extra) that she just sat and read through it the whole time they were there.
P had been quite animated today and given I managed to get him sat up better with the help of one of the carers he was feeling good whilst they were there…so nice.
We all left together and I took AR and Mx to see K since they haven’t seen her for a while. They played with the fort and all the little toy people the way they’ve done every other time they visited, then when Mt&H had finished at IKEA they joined us for tea and chat before heading home.
I got back to T&Kt’s just in time for us to go to the White Hart in Ampthill for supper, talking holidays, homeswaps, snakes, dogs and recipes.
Home in perfect time to get a cup of tea and watch the finale of Happy Valley. Great series….
