Breakfast With Benefits

Representing two or three veterans organisations I met with others for breakfast with Shadow Armed Forces Minister Luke Pollard, Labour MP for Plymouth Devonport and shown first left. Aside from some general conversation we had a wide ranging discussions which included Labours vision for the future Armed Forces including Royal Naval Base Porting, what the future Fleet might look like, veterans concerns, social prescribing and a range of other issues.
I enjoyed the meeting and unlike some MP’s I have met and had discussions with I got the impression that he was listening, bodes well for the future.
This was the first of a proposed series of meetings with local politicians, councillors and veterans groups.
Five hours after leaving home for “a quick breakfast” I arrived back home to some raised eyebrows.
Dinner cooked and and eaten before an evening in front of the TV.
