East Howe Steps Plaza

I’m recording this for the record….It’s a park at the bottom of the steps one can climb straight up to Capital hill (almost 500 plus some hills) . About 10 years in the making and planning of designs with public meetings beginning in 2014…  At long last, it’s going to happen.  Since we walk this way a lot, it’s very fun to see progress…there will be a curved bench on the right in a sunken seating area and lots of plantings.    There were some fine small trees they took out that I thought could have been incorporated.  It will be the perfect rest stop.    Can’t use these steps right now (You can just see the bottom in between the 2 buildings, but I took a photo from the top down (extra) on my nice feel good sunny walk today.   It’s going to be a nice neighborhood addition…will blip when complete.

So ..it’s basketball on the tv again tonight (they won last night) ….the covid “rebound” rules say isolate 5 more days from when you turn positive (Monday) and then mask another 5 after that, IF you have no fever.   sigh.   This is just particular to taking the Paxlovid “emergency” drug….there is now info being written that it should have been a 10 day not 5 day dose but it wasn’t studied long enough.  It’s OK..we weren’t that sick and we didn’t die.    I”m just missing taking basketball photos for O!    We did sneak out to do a couple errands, masked. And earlier I had a lovely Zoom with an old friend who made me happy to hear she is doing well finally in a new retirement home in California, but sadly balanced by our friend who couldn't make the zoom due to bad health issues.
