The snowy egret is known for being quite docile, rarely picking on the other shorebirds. But, they can be very territorial at times.
Territorial, as in..."What are you doing on my pole you little white wench?"
I don't like to see the behavior, because it reminds me of kids fighting over a toy, but I do love to see it when the hackles rise up on the back of the neck and head.
In my Extras is a blue heron getting in his first shake of the morning, and it's not an ice cream shake.
14 in swim class this morning. Me, Mike, Keith (who just rolled in from Michigan), Ralph, Gene, and 9 women.
