2023 Wednesday — Chaos

Our neighborhood was crazy with activity this morning. Wednesday is "trash day." So no less than 3 trash trucks come thru our neighborhood and they each come thru twice; once going north and once going south.

Today was the date for our neighbor's driveway to be repaired. Several paving machines were road blocks and the noise was nerve-wracking.

Two construction workers arrived at our place at 9:30 this morning to work on our back yard. They got all their power tools unloaded from their truck and up to the backyard; then at 10:30 all our electricity went out. PG&E said the power would be back on by 3:00. So our construction team of two workers headed back to the community of Santa Maria. They plan to be back tomorrow. We think this is day 3, maybe day 4 of this project. Jim, the lead worker does not get paid by the company till the job is done, so we think getting this project done is a priority for Jim, who manages to stay calm & cool.

Last week I was invited to the once a month Cayucos Seniors Luncheon that was happening today. We've owned our house here in Cayucos for just over 10 years and we've never ever heard of this luncheon. So I had planned to attend and Mr. Fun was going to go with me but his plans changed when the power stopped. I went without him and our friends Robin & Cynthia who are in Cayucos this week went with me. It was fun and the meal (tamales, pinto beans, chili verde, and salad) was delicious.
