It's Life Jim, But Not As We Know It.

Gordon was fascinated by the hermit crabs on the shore this afternoon. The rock pools were teeming with life in the warm water at the end of a really lovely, sunny day. I learned a few years ago that you just have to sit still for a minute or so for the creatures hiding in their shells to pop out and then the crabs are easy to spot, with the same shells as the snails but much faster moving. Gordon sat this little fellow on his hand and waited for it to pop out. Of course it was terrified and defensive, but absolutely lovely. We carefully popped him back after a good stare.
