chillin' in the shade

There is a flock of cedar waxwings that has been hanging out in our leafless trees out front. Today the mercury soared up into the 80s F (29 C), and so the whole flock moved to the shade of the evergreen tree.
Hey, maybe that is why they are named CEDAR waxwings.
I love the way their creamy bodies modulate the intense look on their faces and the bright yellow tip on their tails!
