A shaft of light

A few chores this morning followed by another session in the garden, once it had warmed up.  Lovely and sunny with not a breath of wind.

I heard a sparrowhawk whistle and spotted him as he flew up into a nearby tree, obviously deterring him from another visit to the garden.  However, one of the wood pigeons copped it over the weekend, because there's half a body and a whole heap of feathers in the orchard.

This afternoon JJ and I have been online at his cousin Roy's memorial service in Surrey.  We would have gone, but BT Open Reach were supposedly coming to finish upgrading the broadband this morning, but let us know they will now be coming on Thursday.
