Safety in numbers

Lucky me had work in Maryport this morning which meant a walk on the beach afterwards. The tide was just going out so Bonnie didn't have to go to far for her paddle. Spotted lots of these little birds on some pebbles. Been trying to find out what they are, they may be Sanderlings or Dunlins, would love to know! Would also love to know what this bird is which was with them.

As it was such a beautiful day we did a slight detour to the beach at Crosscanonby for another little walk before going home. Had a bit of a scary moment though as nearly got stuck in quicksand! Got out eventually, but not nice. A few photos on flikr if anybody is interested.

Managed to finish cutting the front lawn before the rain tomorrow!! So busy day, really tired now!
