How Much Is That Doggy In The Window?

The saddest, longing eyes.

We were out doing the shopping, when we stopped into a pet store to get food for Apollo. This wee fellow was looking very disillusioned with the world and his place in it.

Staring out onto the mall and the passing shoppers, some of whom, like me couldn't resist coming up close to the window of his enclosure. He was the very epitome of puppy-dog-eye despair! Heart-wrenching stuff.

Made me wonder what it must be like for them in the back of the shop out of sight of prying eyes. A fairly purgatorial existence until (hopefully) swooped up into the arms of some adoring, new owner.

A dog's life for sure.
