Sunshine …
… a sight for sore eyes
It was absolutely wonderful to wake up to sunshine this morning. I know that devastation and heartbreak is happening in other parts of Auckland and the North Island, which breaks my heart, but it really boosted our spirits to see the sunshine and hopefully it will boost the spirits of other Aucklanders too.
J&K definitely made it to Tahiti yesterday, but the plane took off without baggage because the high winds made it dangerous to load. However, I heard just before 9:30pm that their bags had arrived. And the other good news is that S finally made it to Tauranga … on a plane. The cricket match starts tomorrow, so great excitement.
We had a leisurely morning, then went for a walk before showering and changing, having a light late lunch and catching the bus into the city. We were meeting three of our America’s Cup volunteer friends for dinner at Feriza’s, a Turkish restaurant in the Wynyard Quarter. We had a great time talking, catching up on each other’s news and enjoying good food and wine. It was a most enjoyable evening.
The photos in the blip are from our walk today.
Apologies, I'm still way behind, but I'll do my best to catch up soon.
