Cub Camp in Edinburgh

Big excitement up at the Academy last night. Two big buses transporting excited and hyper boys (and a couple of girls) to the Cub Camp in Edinburgh for 2 nights away. Cameron does look anxious in this picture but its just the sun in his eyes, he was hyper! Him and 6 of his friends are the youngest and they get to sleep in a dorm and the older ones camp out in tents. Loads of great outdoor activities are planned and we are expecting not to have all the contents of the bag coming back. Had a laugh when my daughter told me that there are 12 pairs of socks packed as they said pack plenty!! And his Buzz Lightyear pants were not allowed in the bag. "These are not appropriate" says Cameron!! Just hope that rabbit returns as that would be a disaster... Had a laugh as some of the backpacks were almost the size of some of the boys and one wee lad almost toppled backwards ! Need to get Cambo a proper one.

Quite an emotional announcement at the team meeting this afternoon when my boss's retirement was officially announced and the new Director of Legal was confirmed . He had told me a wee while ago that it was happening but our departmental boss announced it to the rest of the team today with nice words about Ian who has been with the company for 36 years! He is very well respected not only in the Company but throughout the industry. I am going to miss him very much. His support to me on a personal level last year was something I will always remember and be truly grateful for. When Rob started talking about his achievements and the respect people have for him a few of us got a bit emotional and tears arrived..... End of an era really.

Afterwards we were discussing the leaving Do which will be the first Friday in October and its a Seventies disco with fancy dress! Ian still has an Afghan Coat he wore then to the discos while at uni so it may get an outing . I may go for the Abba look!
