Rain was forecast for about 4 hours from 9 am. It arrived on time and by 1 o’clock I was eager to get out. It was still drizzling when I found a parking space in Grasmere so I headed for the nearby woodland between two roads.

I’ve walked through numerous times but never gone off the main footpath. Today I wandered uphill looking for interesting compositions. Some worked better than others but I think most have potential in the right light and at different times of year. It was an interesting learning experience and I didn’t notice the twiggy bits in the lower right corner until I was home.
