Rusty Beam
My car was collected around 7:30 a.m. - and taken away for MOT repair (I’m actually having two new tyres and some rotation to put four good tyres on) then a retest….
Mrs madwill headed off to the quilt show a bit later - she has reportedly been busy and sold lots of fabric…yay!!
Managed to get three loads of washing dried outside in the gales and sunshine! Took the dogs out for their final walk - our daughter came to collect the dogs at lunchtime - I think they may be glad to get home for a rest..they are not used to all this walking.
I went to buy some eggs from the egg-lady who comes to the village at 3 p.m. on Fridays…whilst waiting, I looked over the wall into the beck/gulley and noticed this fabulous rusty beam. This bridge carries the ‘main road’ through the village…at one time this was the ‘Great North Road’ - since replaced by the A1 bypass and now the A1(M). The little stone spout on the left is connected to a surface water drain in the road above.
Peace and quiet this afternoon….
