To La Herradura this morning, for my first yoga class in a year. It was hard!

S rerouted his morning run to end up there, so after the class we met at the Cafe Lisboa for a late (second) breakfast: eggs Benedict and bacon for him, my usual tostada con tomate for me, reflecting our respective exercise levels.

The covered market in La Herradura has been remodelled since we were last here, so we popped along for a look. It used to be a typical slightly scruffy Andalusian village market. Well ... as you can see it's changed. The wall facing the sea has been replaced with glass. There are five market stalls along the opposite wall, and the central space is filled with three "pavilions", intended to be bars. Only one is functioning at present. It's obviously designed as a pleasant spot for tourists to sit and look out at the sea while enjoying a drink and a tapa. But ... it's not a proper market any more. On the other hand, Almuñecar's market is still a hole in the ground. Piles currently being put in.

This evening we had a date with S and T at Los Pajaritos. We were the people sitting outside ten minutes before it opened, to be sure of getting a table. However we had all learned our lesson from last week's hangovers and were much more restrained. Tonight's standout free tapas were fabulous tiny clams sauteed in garlicky oil. So delicious!
