Northern quarter (and Ric)

It's Hannah's birthday this coming week and although we already have presents for her, the Minx and I decided to walk up to the Maker's Market in the Northern Quarter to see if we could find any little, additional knick-knacks for her.

I've been coming to the Northern Quarter, and Thomas Street in particular, for ten years. I know this because I only started visiting once I'd met the Minx. It's a lot more gentrified now than it was then, although the building in today's photo seems to have been falling down for the entire decade.

And I had a real surprise, too, as we bumped into my erstwhile bandmate, Ric, who was up from Brighton visiting his daughter. What a treat!
