SENIOR NIGHT
More basketball to share as the winter season winds down. The last home game of the season is always Senior Night and each senior is presented with a framed 16x24 action photo of himself before the big game. This year, we played against one of our conference foes and it started out pretty badly.

We were through about half of the first half and we were behind 24-7. At that pace it looked as though the opposition would score 100 points and blow us out of our own gym. But our defense started to emerge and some of the players started nailing 3 pointers and by the 2nd half it was tied 76-76 with only seconds left on the clock.

The opposition took a shot but missed and then the player in the middle of the senior group photo took a jump shot and sunk it just as the buzzer went off and we won it 78-76. The crowd went wild and it took forever for the packed gym to clear afterward.

The two players on the left also joined the 1,000 point Club this year. That's quite an achievement. And both are very nice guys and excellent students.

EXTRA: During halftime, the 2nd grade boys put on an exhibition of basketball skills they learned in Physical Education class. What a hoot...and in 7 more years they'll be part of the high school team continuing the winning tradition.
