Bursting into life
My sedum spectabile. I followed the new idea not to tidy your garden in the autumn, but leave all the old stems and flower heads for the insects, and cut them down at the end of winter. Which is what I’ve done. I love the concentrated force of all this new growth. It was a grey drizzly morning, but the plant looks happy with a few drops on it.
Spent a lot of the day chatting on the phone to my two best friends, getting a bit of advice and perspective. And doing various admin jobs. Dull, but needed doing. A roaring wind for much of the day, made going out a very unattractive prospect. And I found a wonderful new BBC podcast called The Science Hour so listened to a few episodes of that
