Wiring-up a mains Safe Block, or quick tester. Just need to find a decent 13A plug for the other end of the flex. Have used these things for years at work, and decided to get one for use at home. As ever, going for the cheaper option, and wiring it up myself rather than buying a pre-wired one. It's a simple aid to very quickly connect mains power to equipment that doesn't have a plug or any connector on its mains lead. Just used for short term testing purposes, and not something that would be recommended for novice use. For extra safety, I always use it via an RCD type safety adaptor. Thinking of which, it might be worthwhile to just fit a plugtop with an RCD built-in. Something for the next electronics bits order.
T'was a pottering aboot day.
