Old friends

I cooked this morning for Jenny and her sister Elspeth coming for lunch. Jenny is in the middle and her sister who will be 80 this year is on left. It was lovely to see them both.

I made a starter of pears, walnut and Gorgonzola in a honey and Marsala glaze for starter. Our main was a feta, pistachio, brown rice and pomegranate “cake”, with
salads. Pudding was a chocolate ginger log and raspberries. It was all very tasty. They are both excellent cooks so I wanted to make an effort. They must have enjoyed it as recipes were requested.

I’m gradually getting better though don’t feel I have much energy for all the childminding which will start tomorrow. I hope the weather is good! We’ll probably go to Cragside.
