Jack looking pensive.
He was happily playing, out comes the camera and he needs time to consider the next move.
An early bf, we are heading off island in an hour to Oban for the night and onto Glasgow tomorrow. I couldn’t book a ferry off island for tomorrow.
Sadly the insurance people ( the company and the independent assessor) have decided our dear old Motor Home is a ‘write off’. The cost of repair was high, parts from Hymer are costly. We are going to Glasgow to the repair shop, where it was left in early January, to collect all personal belongings remaining in the vehicle. to say this was a shock is an understatement, it will need time to adjust our thinking.
We bought the Hymer almost eleven years ago to the day and never regretted the decision, it is sixteen years old and in excellent condition apart from that blimmin bump on black ice in early December. It didn’t look much, even the repair shop thought this, however……….
We are told it is going to a salvage place, too sad for words. We hope somebody can rescue it and enjoy using the van in the way we have.
I want to write and write, a) there is no point, b) we are very fortunate to live in this part of the world. To see the news is heartbreaking.
