Some of today felt worthwhile, showed progress and was generally pretty lovely way to test my patience.
Some of today felt infuriatingly fruitless, if anything showed backwards progress and was a pretty annoying way to test my patience.  (Although the legendary "43 hour carpet room" wait for some young people to be willing to start to sort out a thing out, makes an hour and 20 seem OK!)

As a side, I totally get peoples right to strike and whatever my opinions on the current targeted strikes here as extras to the national and rolling ones, the reality of the impact on lots of our young people is clear to see.

It's not just the "education" or "learning hours" they're missing.  For so so many pupils here school is a place of safety, warmth, food, nurture, routine. Where people notice them, try to know them. Here, it's a place where they acsess other services and interventions eg The Lighthouse, CAMHS, social workers, mentors, specialist support like Ed psycs and SALT.
We're literally watching some lose ground in so many ways through absolutely no fault of their own and it sucks.
