Grey Heron

The young male was on top of the dovecote this morning he was surveying the area to find a safe place to land as there were a couple of dogs running around. As soon as it was clear he flew down and I started feeding him. There were a couple of crows around who knew it was fish he was getting and were not interested in the biscuits I gave them. He took off and landed in the water calling out so I knew where he was. I walked over and finished feeding him then went to find the others. I was quite surprised as there were no others around. I walked all the way round the loch and was just about to give up when I saw the adult male flying over. I made my way to where he had landed and as I started feeding him he was joined by an adult female and a young one. A few yards away the very nervous one landed as well. The crows were back in force as I made my way home. They got their biscuits. This is the young male in the water.
