An early drive to Kendal. Too early, so I went to Sainsbury’s and wandered the aisles looking at all sorts of things that I had no intention of buying.

Then into the centre where I paid for two hours parking. On to Booths cafe for coffee and toasted teacake (they’ve both gone up in price) and then a walk to the far end of town for some of my favourite brand of off road shoes. I emerged from the shop not only with two pairs of shoes but also a lightweight goretex jacket. Some of you know how long I’ve spent looking for a new waterproof jacket.

I had time afterwards for a wander around the market and some photos. The shot I’ve chosen was taken just beyond the market stalls.
