Saturday: Pre-Snorkelling

Luckily Joe was feeling much better so was able to join us for our exciting excursion - a full day snorkeling around Caye Caulker.  We went out on a boar trip that took in a number of sites, including the famous Shark Ray Alley, where we snorkelled with nursing sharks, and the Hol Chan Marine Reserve, where the range of marine life is just incredible.  

The sharks were particularly amazing - we were a little worried as Joe had sustained a cut on his leg during one the the snorkels and was bleeding.  I’m pleased to say the sharks didn’t notice and he emerged with all his limbs in tact.

It was a very full day in the sun and wind and we were all ready for bed by 8pm, although we did manage to keep going a little longer.  Unfortunately it wasn’t really feasible to take photos on the boat as it was very wet most of the time so this is our pre-departure shot.
