IT'S MOTORHEAD SUNDAY ONCE AGAIN
Let's not keep you motorheads petrolheads in suspense any longer. It's a 1913 Indian Board Track Racer.
~
Back in the day (19teens/twenties), doubtedless born of the bicycle racing velodromes, there were lots of wood (board track) banked racing ovals in the U.S. And this Indian was one of the premier racers of the day. V-twin cylinder, 600+cc displacement, capable of speeds of 100 mph and NO BRAKES. The object was to go fast...not slow down. I imagine they just coasted until they slowed enough to drag a foot using the old Flintstone braking system.

For those interested, here's a little history gleaned off the Internet.

EXTRAS: Check the leather helmet which was all there was back then. And check the exhaust ports on this bad boy....."We don't need no stinkin' mufflers!" While you're at it, check out the throttle linkage.....very interesting as it appears to be usable with either or both hands.
