Mia the Cat

Living with an animal is a gift.
Mia is very routinized in her daily expectations about food and play.
I too happen to thrive on routine.
And yet she manages to live with joy, independence, and assurance.

Sometimes I want to be her.
Curious as to my surroundings, eager to explore new things.
Requesting what I want when I want it, even if it annoys others.
Asking for affection.  Playing with total abandon.
Not worried about opting out if I wasn't interested in what was happening.
Is that selfishness or freedom?
Feels like freedom to me!!!
