Gorse fire

Sadly not atmospheric clouds but smoke. The hills on the Mizen are burning - deliberately, in an attempt to control the gorse. Always controversial as the fires inevitably get out of control. This is legal until the 1st March but the devastation can be shocking, the pollution considerable and wretched for wildlife. This has been going all night and day, we could smell it as we went to bed.

In other news, I'd forgotten about the Index. Heck, that's a big job. I'm doing it old school style and just ploughing through making notes and taking numbers. There is a whizzy technical way but it looks a bit too complicated and stressful. I'm up to page 25. Sigh. Himself is wrestling with a map showing St Gobnait's  journey. Sigh.
