Summer snow Mt Hutt

Snow can fall at any time in New Zealand's mountain areas. That's well and truly documented in scientific journals for roughly 50 years. What's unusual is the amount if snow. Today is Sunday and this fell Wednesday to Friday last week.

Looking down we saw lots of cars on the access road. Later in the day someone told me that Mt Hutt had an open day mountain bikes. Heaps of people carriage their skis and snowboards up the slopes and made the most of the snow.

I'm a tired bunny tonight.
