Shannon and Her Shadow
Again, I woke up at 5:57 a.m. and went out to the sunrise. Not a bird to be seen, but I did find a couple of sailboats.
After the rise, I went to a beach where I find smaller shorebirds. Terns, skimmers, gulls, and plovers. I found them, but found something else, too. Dead fish. There is a surf condition down here called red tide. It kills fish and makes people cough. Not good.
But, sometimes the dead contribute to the living. Some of the shorebirds "picked" at the dead fish, tearing apart little morsels to eat. I saved you having to look at that, instead posting the cute plover (or sandpiper?) The pickers ( 2 of them) are in the extras, along with a shot of the sunrise.
Today is my birthday, and it is a big one. 70 years, 7 decades. Whoa.
It started out great. A good sunrise, and a trip to the airport to pick up our friends Mike and Cindy. Then it went south. An hour nap, then to my favorite seafood place for an early birthday dinner.
During the dinner, my nose began to run and I felt like taking another nap. We got home at 3:30, and I went to bed and slept until 11:30 p.m. Whoa. Not good.
I thought I was over what I had, but maybe not. I don't know what to think, but I did test negative to my 3rd Covid test.
YEAH! WELCOME TO MY SEVENTIES!
