Pelicans etal!

Chapter 1 - Page 8
We booked into the Augusta River Cruise this afternoon and we weren't disappointed.  It turned out to be a leisurely trip up the Blackwood River taking in the wonderful bird life along the way.  I'm looking forward to going up again in spring at low tide when the migratory birds are there in their thousands.  I was delighted that Graham, the captain took us past a small island in the river near the jetty where I know pelicans congregate in great numbers in the late afternoon.  I didn't count on the Black Swans,  Cormorants and the random Spoonbill being there as well.
