Mother’s ruin

It was one of those beautiful days today - still air, calm sea, blue sky, clouds, sunshine. A really lovely feel to it.  We had a relaxed morning pottering around doing “stuff”, then a quick light lunch before catching the bus into the city.  After our meeting we popped into LaLa Café for coffee before catching the bus home.  We did more “stuff” before walking down to St Heliers for the Wednesday evening Pigeon Underground walk.  It was a good, though hot, walk and MrMacD surpassed himself by coming in ahead of me.  Wonders will never cease.  Everyone is clapped across the finish line, then when the last walkers and runners have arrived we have a group photo before popping across the road to the Pigeon for a drink and a chat and a prize draw.  It’s a really nice atmosphere and was particularly good last night.  That might be because my number was the first one drawn and I chose a small bottle of gin.  It’s from a family company and the distillery, possibly the world’s smallest commercial distillery, is perched on the side of Moonshine Valley in suburban Upper Hutt north of Wellington. The gin is batch distilled and hand bottled.  https://www.ruindistillery.co.nz/about/

As an aside to my blip of 22 February (https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/3075003806119889773), the van was sold to a person who believes they can repair and use it … for more than the owner paid for it in the first place.

There are two photos in the blip, one is the bottle of gin and the other is an optician’s window on Parnell Road.
