I decided to make a collage of the rose mosaics in Rose Street but could find only two of the original eight roses which were laid down in the 1980s. They were at the intersections of the pedestrianised street and although they were designed to withstand the weight of delivery and service vehicles they were still getting damaged.  As a result  when the council wanted to resurface the street they regarded them as a trip hazard so removed them just leaving these.
Rose Street lies parallel to Princes Street in Edinburgh and was designed as part of James Craig's New Town plan in 1767. Just to the north is the wide George Street named after King George 111 and beyond is Thistle Street named after the national flower of Scotland just as Rose Street is named after England’s national flower.

(Shapes for today's challenge - circles, ovals, rectangles and others)
