City Father

We climbed Waverley Steps with great expectations. Sadly those were dashed on reaching Princes Street. Boarded up “flagship” stores including Jenner’s and Debenhams with Binns now repurposed as a so called Whisky Experience. No two paving stones were at the same level and discarded chewing gum speckled the drabness like a saliva snail trail.
Every available vertical surface wax daubed in decaying stickerdom. The view of Sir Walter Scott, marred by ephemeral detritus.

However it’s people not places that matter and a whirlwind of face to face catch ups with family and friends made this a very special day for us both!
