Sunshine

It's been a beautiful sunny day and we have endeavoured to make something of the bright sunshine.

First thing, I took my blip photograph, which looks for all the world like someone has rubbed a brick with a piece of chalk pastel. It's actually just blue light cast onto the brick wall behind by the sun passing through a blue glass paperweight, which sits on the mantelpiece.

Then mid-morning we filled the washing-machine and ran it with solar generated electricity, followed by a bit of tumble drying, likewise powered, and finally ran the dishwasher hopefully again run on solar energy.

After lunch I picked up some knitting which has been sitting unloved for some weeks as a bit of unpicking was required. The nice, strong sunlight made it much easier to see the stitches and the corrections were quickly made.

In between times we slipped in another couple of episodes of Detectorists (that finishes series 2) and watched the very final episode of Landscape Artists of the Year when the winner painted his prize commission. I thought he did a great job given the vagueness of the brief.
