Cathedrals again
Today we were in Bury St Edmunds visiting, St Edmundsbury Cathedral. Very different from Ely, some of it was only built at the end of the last century.
This shot is up the inside of the tower, the red and blue and gold patterned work is the underside of the roof of the tower. A bit twisted but it was the best angle I could get.
This building is far less ornate than Ely, but its simplicity was very appealing.
They are raising funds for the church in quite a novel way. They are selling Lego bricks that will then be included in a Lego model of the Cathedral. The unfinished model is on display and is very impressive, especially the stained glass Lego windows.
