Richmond upon Thames Council Chamber

Another chilly day so I did not go out until this afternoon when I went to our Council headquarters to see a presentation by Thames Water about their proposals to ensure we have more water in the future. It includes taking some water from the Thames locally and also releasing some treated sewage locally too. Lots of heated discussion by individuals with Thames Water staff but most of their displays were the same as on their website so it did not take long to see. We then went into the main council building in York House ( I blipped the outside of this last Saturday, 25th Feb) and into the council chamber and several of the other rooms which can be hired and are also used for other council meetings etc.

There are a lots of nice features such as ornate ceilings which have been well preserved. This is the council chamber which ai have been in before. We bumped into the Mayors chaffeur  who was happy to show us around, there are also nice photographs of all the previous mayors, quite a few I have worked with when I worked in a local school…they came to give out prizes etc.
