Making a sampler!

Last week I did a workshop at the Museum of Richmond..we were told about and shown some very old samplers. We were then given a kit to make something similar at home. I have been working on mine most evenings for a couple of hours while watching TV. It takes so long and the stitches are so small..I have never done something like this before. If you look at the photo you can see the scale… I am determined to finish it and have a frame ready but I doubt if I will ever do another! 
I am always in amazement of the hours ladies must have spent doing needlework of this type and how difficult it is unless you have good light!

Another chilly day but fortunately the drizzle we had early on stopped.
