A Day In The Sun
The hunt for Standing Stones continues. I had determined the locations of some and consulted the OS Maps to confirm their existence.
The day is a beautiful sunny day. However, there was no successful discovery made. The OS Maps did not reflect the reality on the ground and it was not possible to take photographs. The locations had been obscured by new tree growth.
Another obstacle was the existence of road closures.
We decided to enjoy the sun and scenery and spent some happy hours driving through the countryside. Today’s entry is taken on our journey. The colours are accurate.
We travelled much further than we planned and enjoyed the scenery and the wildlife.
We stopped for a late lunch in Blairgowrie and then headed back home using the routes selected by Apple Maps. This is always an interesting experience and today was no different.
Apple Maps works through CarPlay and CarPlay uses the Satellite Aerial in the car to determine the true position. The car is also equipped with an SOS button which reports your position in the event of a problem.
Much of the area we travelled through has no mobile signals and Pat’s own iPhone did not know where we were.
The reality is that it is fairly difficult to become completely lost. Eventually you encounter a road you have used before.
Great fun.
Addendum: I have just read that the March 1 is JoeTree Day. My entry for the 1st March does not feature trees. This is the first entry to do so.
I have set up a reminder for the 1st March 2024.
