These cattle were keeping a close eye on us when we stopped at the old Stanley Brook school and recreation reserve on our way south to Maruia Hot Springs, located in the Lewis Pass, NZ.

Arriving in the area ahead of check in we stopped at nearby Marble Hill recreation and walked through native bush to The Sluice Box. A bridge crosses over the blue waters of the Maruia River as it flows through a narrow gorge formation known as The Sluice Box - 1st extra.

The second set of extra photos show misty wet weather as we settle into our accommodation for the night. Before dinner we had a booking for a private mineral ‘bath’ with wine and chocolates, later a scrumptious dinner then before bed we sat in the popular outdoor spa pools with gentle rain falling on us. It was a perfect day.
