I should have taken the secateurs
I didn't fit in a walk, but the afternoon was unusually bright so I took the camera for a wander round the garden. It seems a while since I've done this - for a long time, it was where I took most of my photos. I found plenty to look at and photograph: windblown catkins against intensely blue sky, rhubarb sprouting enthusiastically, acid yellow and silver grey lichens. This shrivelled reminder of last year's raspberry crop is not the best focused photo I took, but I like the light, and it won't be repeated as the forest of autumn fruiting raspberries is overdue for cutting down, before the canes sprout too much. I really should start walking round the garden with the secateurs instead of the camera.
