Another grim day of weather in the SE. Cold thin rain this afternoon and I can’t see it getting any better.

I touched a raw nerve with some of you yesterday with my comments about litter, noise and pollution. Did any of you watch Paul Whitehouse presenting “Our Troubled Rivers” last night? The first programme tackled the water companies and the second next Sunday looks at the impact, amongst other issues of agrochemicals.

We were troubled by all we saw and heard, especially the fate of Windermere. How has this been allowed to happen. The response from the water companies? Anodyne gaslighting.

On a lighter note I spend the morning at our band rehearsal. Good fun and hard work in equal measure.

This afternoon we went card hunting for Mother’s Day. So hard to find a card with a good image and the right words. At least the task provided a blip. At last some companies are recognising people want to opt out of receiving emails about gifts for mothers and indeed fathers.
