Puerto Natales…

…southern Chile port, an extremely windy place. Thank goodness there are lamp posts! We loved these statues to be found on the seafront walking from the harbour into the town centre. The views across the sea towards the Patagonian mountains is stunning.

In the extras some of the brilliantly coloured street art and murals with young lads doing what they do everywhere in the world! The street art has the theme of indigenous culture and traditions, costumes and rituals. There were indigenous peoples in Patagonia long before the Spanish colonisers arrived but sadly they did not survive. Traces of their physical features, however, can be seen in modern day Chileans here.
